Below is a definiton of Quantum Yoga. I posted about this last week to get a feel for those of you who may be interested in a one-of-a-kind teacher training coming late summer or early fall. Text 561-703-9150 if interested in more info.

This sweet being, Violet, asked me the other day: what kind of yoga do you teach? To my own surprise I said something different for the first time: “Quantum Yoga.” Or at least that’s what I believe I’ve been developing over the past decade-plus without fully knowing it, least of all attaching the fancy-sounding name.

“Wha’ts that,” she said? “Does it kind of emphasize that everything is connected, or maybe you work on the chakra system?”

“Yes, and…” I replied.

That thoughtful question from a very kind and (super!) present being prompted me to feel into the most accesible definition I could. I immediately thought about medicine and said: “A close synonym for quantum could be holistic. Think about how western medicine works singularly on the physical layer of us (meds/surgery) but true holistic (or quantum or natural or integrative) medicine address *ALL of us rather than the most dense and slowest moving part of us.” Now, it’s an imperfect metaphor because yoga classes and trainings do address the multiple layers, though in my experience (& this is distinction, not criticism) the emphasis is more on the roots of the practice rather than the branches and to where those branches are reaching. And I understand that one must begin in the beginning and learn from the ground up, but what happens when the ground changes? When older, heavier energies are shed and are no longer supported by the planet and us? It’s happening all around us as we speak. The older programming of isolation, competition, greed, hierarchies, masculine energy-dominance, fear, lack etc. are out of date and no longer work as tools of living the way they once did. And you can see it in the younger generations too: their way of being, seeing, believing, experiencing, thinking and doing, are different. Just like the entire universe is in a constant state of expansion, so too is our consciousness. And we are coming in standing on elevated ground, on the shoulders of our blessed ancestors. And I would feel remiss if I did not mention that the ancient art and science of yoga was developed by and for the masculine, in energy and body. Our current reality is swinging back into a more balanced energetic structure.

I’ll wrap up with this; the Quantum Sciences look at the very very “small” or sub-atomic world. And they have found out that that world works on its own set of rules and laws. Rules and laws with which we CONSTANTLY interact/are under the influence of, whether we know it or not. But why not know more so we can create consciously rather than unconsciously. And since I’m aiming at several definitions to try to see this thing from multiple angles, here’s one more crack at it:

Quantum yoga is a theoretical and holistic approach to yoga that integrates principles from quantum physics, consciousness studies, and traditional yogic practices. It explores the idea that the fundamental building blocks of the universe are not only physical particles but also energy fields and wave functions, which are influenced by the observer's consciousness. In quantum yoga, practitioners seek to deepen their awareness of the interconnectedness of mind, body, heart, spirit and the cosmos, utilizing techniques such as meditation, breathwork, movement, energy locks in the body, coherence practices, coherent energy work, natural laws, visualization, intention etc. to access states of heightened consciousness and tap into the quantum realm. This practice aims to promote inner peace, whole health, consciousness expansion/spiritual growth, and a deeper understanding of the nature of reality and our Selves as a creative force inside of that reality.
