I am creating these "Yoga Extras" blog posts for those of you resonating with the public yoga classes & Yoga Teacher Trainings I am leading. Inside of these blog posts you will find extra resources that support our weekly class theme. The weekly classes I guide are themed according to the season & collective energetic "weather"–This is of course influenced by many things; for instance, not only national and global events but how masses of people are feeling about and reacting to those events. It is also influenced by space weather (seespaceweather.com) & the current movement/placement of celestial bodies ie: the sun, moon, planets, nodes, stars, etc. You can find me teaching currently atBlack Swan Yoga (North-Anderson) in Austin, TX. I am on the schedule as "Erika K." Mention this webpage for a free class.

Hi!

I've been excited to begin to share on one of the coolest things I've learned in a long time. In Quantum Physics/Mechanics it is called: Downward Causation. Learning about this has helped me understand soooo much about the way each of us, including the universe itself, is designed. It's a big topic that I will talk more about in time, but for now, here is a tid bit of an introduction.

Below are writing prompts based on some of Emerson's ideas. If you resonate with the reading, I highly suggest writing to get to a deeper truth within yourself about living the dance of paradox/contradiction to end any war of perfectionism or static consistency within yourself.

-
Write a story where a character must navigate the tension between independence and community, discovering the balance between self-reliance and interconnectedness.
-
Craft a poem exploring the paradox of solitude amidst society, capturing the duality of finding profound connection within moments of isolation.
-
Develop a character who grapples with the conflicting desires for adventure and stability, ultimately realizing that embracing both can lead to a richer, more fulfilling life journey.
-
Create a dialogue between two characters—one advocating for conformity and the other for nonconformity—illustrating the complexity of individuality within societal norms.
-
Imagine a futuristic society where technology has advanced to the point of erasing all boundaries between humans and machines. Explore the paradox of technological progress and human identity, questioning where the line between humanity and artificiality truly lies.
-
Write a reflective essay on the paradoxical nature of success, exploring how achieving one's goals can sometimes lead to unexpected consequences or unfulfilled desires.
-
Develop a series of vignettes depicting moments of epiphany where characters embrace the paradox of simplicity and complexity, finding beauty in the intricate balance of life's intricacies.
-
Create a short story set in a world where time travel is possible, exploring the ethical dilemmas and philosophical paradoxes that arise when characters attempt to alter the past to change their present circumstances.
-
Craft a character who struggles with the tension between tradition and innovation, torn between honoring the wisdom of the past and embracing the possibilities of the future.
-
Write a series of interconnected poems exploring the theme of nature's dualities—birth and death, growth and decay, chaos and order—reflecting Emerson's belief in the inherent contradictions that exist within the natural world and within ourselves.
