I am creating these "Yoga Extras" blog posts for those of you resonating with the public yoga classes & Yoga Teacher Trainings I am leading. Inside of these blog posts you will find extra resources that support our weekly class theme. The weekly classes I guide are themed according to the season & collective energetic "weather"–This is of course influenced by many things; for instance, not only national and global events but how masses of people are feeling about and reacting to those events. It is also influenced by space weather (seespaceweather.com) & the current movement/placement of celestial bodies ie: the sun, moon, planets, nodes, stars, etc. You can find me teaching currently atBlack Swan Yoga (North-Anderson) in Austin, TX. I am on the schedule as "Erika K." Mention this webpage for a free class.

Well, the way this week's theme came about had an interesting spin on it. It initially came to me through the reading (see below). Then I was looking through a list of my past sequences to feel around for some sequencing ideas. I suddenly realized I was looking at the theme we did for the May 2023 new moon in Taurus. And get this, it is the same theme that had just come to me today (Thurs. May 9th)…the week of the new moon in taurus that piqued this past Tuesday. Our energy is connecting naturally to the larger cycles. Woot!

Below is a video exploring our theme & another on the Quantum Yoga Teacher Training I've been talking about for the past few weeks. I am in conversation with many of you and am currently considering offering this QYTT as a 300 hr for those of you who already have a 200 hr and are looking to complete your advanced hours. If I do in fact offer this 300, it will be a full weekend module once a month for 12 months. ANOTHER AWESOME THING: I will be able to open several of these 300 hr modules to "the public," meaning, if one or several of these monthly modules appeals to you, you are welcome to take it. You do not need to be on the 300 hr certification track. I would not be able to do that were this a 200. I am currently just gathering information from those of you who are resonating with the classes I teach, so if you are at all interested in potentially participating in this module-type education, let me know.

Below are writing prompts based on the above reading. If you resonate with the reading, I highly suggest writing to get to a deeper truth within yourself about your desire to feel certain (excluding all other possibilities) vs feeling awe, astonishment, curiosity, reverence & wonder (holding the energy of inclusion).

-
Reflect on a personal experience where you were confronted with the choice between seeking certainty and embracing the mysteries of life. Write a narrative that explores how your decision influenced your perception of the world around you.
-
Imagine a character who is deeply entrenched in the pursuit of knowledge and certainty, but who encounters a moment of profound awe in nature that challenges their rigid beliefs. Write a short story that follows this character's journey as they grapple with the tension between being right and experiencing reverence.
-
Write a series of journal entries inspired by Mary Oliver's poem, documenting moments in your own life where you've been torn between the desire for answers and the acceptance of the unknown. Reflect on how these moments have shaped your understanding of yourself and the world.
-
Explore the theme of reverence in relation to the natural world by writing a descriptive piece that captures the beauty and mystery of a specific natural setting. Consider how the experience of being in nature can shift one's perspective from a need to be right to a sense of wonder and reverence.
-
Create a dialogue between two characters—one who is steadfast in their pursuit of knowledge and correctness, and another who finds solace and meaning in the mysteries of life. Write a conversation that delves into their differing perspectives and the ways in which they challenge and enrich each other's understanding.
